Tanto la taquilla norteamericana como Quentin Tarantino están de enhorabuena por los resultados obtenidos este pasado fin de semana. La asistencia de público a las salas ha incrementado un 20% respecto al año pasado, y Malditos bastardos se convierte en la pelÃcula más taquillera de la semana, con unos “gloriosos” 37.6 millones de dólares.
Tarantino vuelve a convencer en taquilla después del fracaso que supuso en Estados Unidos su proyecto conjunto con su colega Robert Rodriguez, Grindhouse. De hecho los resultados obtenidos con Malditos bastardos superan a las mismÃsimas Kill Bill: Volume 1 y Kill Bill: Volume 2.
IronÃas de la vida, Robert Rodriguez también estrenaba pelÃcula: La cinta infantil Shorts: La piedra mágica (que en nuestro paÃs se estrena este mismo viernes) cuya acogida ha sido más bien tibia desde ambos espectros del séptimo arte.
Asà ha sucedido con el resto de estrenos. Tan sólo Post Grad ha logrado colarse en el top 10 y por la mÃnima.
El resto de pelÃculas descienden para ir dejando sitio a las nuevas. The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard y Ponyo en el acantilado abandonan el ránking, y más arriba, tanto District 9 (exitazo tanto de público como de crÃtica), G.I. Joe y The Time Traveler’s Wife descienden en sus recaudaciones más de un 40%. Sólo Julie y Julia consigue mantenerse con un 25.3%, casi para sorpresa de todos.
El fin de semana que viene sólo tenemos tres estrenos… pero de los que suenan. O al menos lo parecen. Halloween II, la nueva entrega de la saga reversionada por Rob Zombie, cuya fecha de estreno en España aún se desconoce; Destino: Woodstock, la nueva pelÃcula de Ang Lee de la que os hablamos hace un par de semanas; y Destino final 4 (The Final Destination), cuya principal baza para el público será su proyección en tres dimensiones.
